Junko and Anthony tagged along with me on a business trip to Hawaii for the 2009 PACOM Information Assurance Conference of the Pacific. While I did not have much of an opportunity to enjoy Hawaii, Junko and Anthony had a blast.

Overall it was a good trip and a refreshing impromptu vacation for the family.

Question by markell: what are some good vacation spots in hawaii?

Me and a few of my friends are planning a trip to hawaii for spring break next year. what are some good islands, cities, and hotels that would make our vacation the best?

All the islands have good beaches, although you might end up driving a little more to get to them on the Big Island. So you really have to choose based on what else you want.

Question by pilio1234: Is August a good time for a Hawaii vacation?

My wife and I are thinking of going this month, late August, maybe a couple of days in September too. Either Big Island (been before) or Oahu (never been). How is the weather normally this time of year? Which island, and which side of the island to stay on for better weather?

August and September are in hurricane season, but the weather is nice and a bit warmer than average. I don’t think there’s a bad month for Hawaii.

I have ususally traveled there in late September and the weather is perfect, though I did have a trip rescheduled once due to a hurricane.

I’m planning a trip to Hawaii, taking my wife and 2 year old. Where’s a good place to visit? Honolulu? We have a very limited amount of money and can we still enjoy ourselves with a 2 year old??

I just went a few years ago and found a lot of good tips and information at tripadvisor.com. They have forums where you can ask questions and reviews of a lot of hotels and places to go. I used that website to basically plan the whole trip. Hope you have fun, Hawaii is amazing!

Question by jjgraiders: Does anyone know a good website to book a trip to Hawaii for my cousin who is getting married?

My cousin got married today and I want to give her a memorable trip to Hawaii for her and her family. I found out a few weeks ago that she has intestinal cancer and possible cervical. It is between stage 2 and 3. I want to give her something that she will always remember. However, I don’t want to book the trip when she could possible be getting treatment. I want to buy the trip but let her choose the best date. Is there such a thing?

Question by Charles W: I’m planning a trip to Hawaii. Is Hawaiian Airline still good to travel or is it bankrupt?

I’m trying to find the cheapest airline to fly from San Francisco to Hawaii. I’ve have been hearing Hawaiin airline is no good. If so which airline is the best?

The days of cheap airfares may be gone. Current prices more accurately reflect the price of fuel than the bargains that spoiled us and led to several bankruptcies. Hawaiian Airlines itself went through Chapter 11 Restructuring a few years ago but emerged from it quite soon. It’s also had no fatal accidents in the last 38 years at least, quite possibly, ever.

Hawaiian airlines ticket sales are up 25% since Aloha and ATA went bankrupt last month. They were stretched a little thin at first, among other things taking care of ground operations for Island Air, which Aloha had done previously. Since I fly with Island Air about once a week, I’ve dealt with Hawaiian Airline personnel several times, and they seem to be just fine.

When I fly to North America, I always try to fly Continental. I don’t even look to see if they’re cheaper anymore. I just appreciate their level of service on a long haul.

I am looking for a good deal for a vacation package for 2 from Cleveland to Hawaii for dates starting Dec 23 till Jan 1, 2007. I am looking for 5 nights and dates can be adjusted accordingly. Any suggestions or travel agents?
