Question by Scott W: Is there a website that helps me plan a vacation to Hawaii?

I am looking for a website that will tell me about the best attractions to look for on my vacation to Hawaii. I don’t want to do tourist things. I want to do what locals do. Hence, I am looking for a website where I can read about what Hawaii locals do for fun, food that they eat, restaurants they go to, and beaches locals surf at. Please help…

Well if you don’t want to do the normal tourist stuff, you should probably stay away from the main stream sites. The smaller Hawaii forums written by local people is what you want I think.

This site is new, but I think it is what you want. You can find any random thing about Hawaii being talk about by Hawaii people. Once it gets going, this site should have a lot of stuff about Hawaii.

There is only 1 that I know of and it is on the big island. It is called Kona village resort. I don’t know which island or islands you plan on visiting, but I would suggest Maui. There is so much to do and see, that you won’t want the all inclusive.

Not that I know of. However, if you put it on a credit card, of course, you can pay in installments.

Question by Ariellashelle: Why aren’t there cruises to Hawaii in May, June, July, or August through Carnival Cruise Lines?

I was searching on Carnival.com for cruises next year in 2010 to Hawaii for my birthday present and I couldn’t find any cruises during the four months listed.

Carnival and all of the other cruise lines that do west coast US to Hawaii and back cruises move their ships from the Hawaii itinerary to do Alaska cruises. The Alaska cruise season is mid-May through mid-September only each year. So they have the ships doing Alaska cruises during the months you are looking at.

For example, I cruised from San Diego to Hawaii and back last September on a RC ship, the Radiance of the Seas and it is now doing Alaska cruises.

But here are some options for you next year in April, close to your intended cruise date. One cruise on the Golden Princess actually leave April 25th and thus you would be cruising in May back to the US from Hawaii. I have cruised on that ship and its a great ship and I do recommend it. And you cannot get a better cruise than on a Princess ship. And, for a 14 day cruise the price is also great. So book it now.

There are plenty of cruises like that! And since Hawaii is a State in the United States (!!!) you don’t need a passport to go there!

Question by LINDA C: There are 3 cruises to choose from when cruising Hawaii: (Pride of) America, Hawaii, & Aloha. Which is best?

These are the only cruises that start and end in Hawaii.
I’ve heard some bad things about this cruise (NCL) company.
In fact I havent yet heard anyone say anything good about them.
But I want to cruise so badly.
So I have to find the best of the 3.
And why do you think your cruise (name the cruise) is the best one of the 3.

The cruise line that we cruised on several years ago has since disbanded, so I can’t really help you as far as cruises. But, go to www.cruisecritic.com and bring up Hawaiian cruises. You will get ratings from actual people like you and me that have been on the cruise ships and maybe you will be able to determine from this site what ship would be the best to go on. I have heard good things about Norwegian Cruise Line, but have never been on one of their cruises. So I may be misinformed.

Question by dreamersleague: Are there any 10+ day Cruises to Hawaii in May?

I am just wondering if any companies offers a 10+ day Cruise around the Hawaiin islands with shore excursions, ect, the whole thing in the Month of May. Many do in Jan, Feb, Mar, April, but of the sites I have looked (Princess and NCL, plus a few others) none offer the trips in May. I need to go in May because I have exams in April.

To Sum it up: Are there any 10+ Day Cruises to Hawaii in the month of May? If not… why?
